We have experienced Support Workers with wide ranging experiences such as Social Work, Occupational Therapy and Child, Young Person and Family Support.

A committed and experienced group of Trustees work with us providing our strategic direction.

We are contracted by Cumberland & Westmorland & Furness Councils to undertake Carers Assessments and develop Support Plans.  We also, through our own fundraising activities deliver activities, trips and other support for Young, Adult and Parent Carers.

A Carers Assessment provides Carers with an opportunity to identify what could help them with their caring role. All Carers; Young and Adult, in the UK have a legal right to a Carers Assessment. All professionals working with Carers have a statutory obligation to ensure that Carers are given this opportunity.

We provide information and advice to Carers and have a volunteer programme through which we can provide IT support, Sitting Service, Craft groups, lunch and coffee hubs; at which Carers meet regularly for mutual support.  Young Carers can participate in school holiday trips and activities as well as receiving 1:1 support.

Carer Support Carlisle & Eden will ensure that our services meet our clients expectations, our own high standards and comply with all relevant regulations. We aim to provide the highest possible levels of customer satisfaction.

Specific quality objectives will be set and reviewed through our business planning, management meetings and management review processes. To help achieve these, we will maintain a quality system that meets BS EN ISO 9001:2015 - our: Quality Policy

Carer Support Cumbria is a carer services provider consortium formed from the county’s five well-established carer support service providers. All members have extensive experience in delivering Cumbria County Council contracted universal and targeted support services for unpaid carers, young adult carers, young carers, cared for and their families.  All are experienced in delivering Assessments, Support Plans,  Health and Wellbeing Support and associated personalised support services.

Members were instrumental in partnering CCC, NHS, GPs. Health and Social Care Agencies and Third Sector Providers in initiating Cumbria’s Carers Strategy and in implementing county-wide carer support services. All were inaugural partners in Neighbourhood Care Independence Programme 2013.

All are active participants in strategic partnerships and practice networks partnering the statutory, third and voluntary sectors in promoting carer needs awareness, championing carers’ rights, improving service integration and carer outcomes. All members work collaboratively to ensure provision of a cohesive county-wide offer.

All are members of either the Carers Trust or Carers UK and operate services aligned with Carers Charter standards.  All have experienced and expert staff teams skilled in ensuring equitable access to urban and rural communities, to minority and seldom heard communities and in ensuring personalised support in a carer-centred practice culture.
