Carer's Leave Bill passes Committee Stage

Carers UK are delighted to report that events have moved quickly since the Carer’s Leave Bill passed its Second Reading in the House of Commons on Friday 21 October. Wendy Chamberlain MP’s Private Member’s Bill, which would introduce up to a week of unpaid Carer’s Leave, has now today been successful at Committee Stage – another important step in its journey.

A massive thank you for your continued support of the Bill. The next steps for the Bill will be the crucial Commons stages of Report and Third Reading which, if successful, will mean the Bill passes to the Lords. We will be in touch with further details as soon as we have confirmed dates for this. In the meantime, please do continue to share our campaign with other organisations and individuals who may be interested in supporting it.
